Baby Boy Found Abandoned in North Charleston, Turned Over to Police
HANAHAN, SC (TIM RENAUD, WTAT-TV) — Officials with the City of Hanahan say someone found an abandoned infant child near Remount Road and Sumner Avenue in North Charleston Wednesday morning.
UPDATE: North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor tells us the parents of the toddler have been located and the incident remains under investigation.
The boy, who had a fever, was taken to the Hanahan Fire Department and then transported to MUSC for evaluation.
Hanahan officials have turned the investigation over to North Charleston police because the boy was located in their jurisdiction.
We are working to learn more on what happened with the child or if any criminal charges will be filed.
