Biden, McMaster to Attend Event Honoring Sen. Ernest Holling
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Former Vice President Joe Biden and Governor Henry McMaster will be in the Lowcountry today for the unveiling of a statue honoring Senator Ernest Fritz Hollings.
Senator Hollings, now 95-years-old, is a Charleston native who represented the Palmetto State in Washington from 1966 until 2005. He also served as South Carolina Lieutenant Governor and Governor.
In addition to Biden and McMaster, Senator Lindsey Graham, Rep Clyburn, former Charleston mayor Joe Riley and current mayor John Tecklenburg will attend today’s event which will get underway at 2:00pm at the federal courthouse, which used to bear his name.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
