MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WTAT-TV) — Residents in Mount Pleasant are still under a boil water advisory Friday morning.

Mount Pleasant Waterworks say the advisory impacts a portion of Dunes West, seventeen streets in all.

We are told a contractor struck a water main Thursday morning which caused a water outage.

Before officials can lift that boil water advisory samples will need to be drawn and tested.

When service is restored, officials say residents may need to flush their pipes if they see sediment or discoloration. The water should clear up after a few minutes.

Water is considered pure when it has been vigorously boiled for 3-5 minutes.

Streets included in the advisory are:
– Rush Haven
– Greenspoint
– Spring Line
– Bowline
– Mooring Line
– Fountainhead
– Stay Sail
– Ayers Plantation
– Yachtsman
– Whisker Pole
– Hatchway
– Catamaran
