Bond Hearing For Man Charged With Stealing Fire Vehicle

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) – On Sunday, February 17th, 33-year-old, David Lathan, was arrested, for stealing a Charleston Fire Department SUV.

Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office charged Lathan with Failure to stop for Blue Lights and Receiving Stolen Goods over $10,000.

Monday, February 18th, he appeared in a bond hearing, facing a $100-thousand surety bond.

Lathan told the judge that he borrowed the vehicle because, “There are spiritual things going on in the world. I had to do this to get people’s attention.” When the judge asked Lathan if he thought about asking permission, Lathan replied that God gave him the ability.
