Caitlyn the Dog’s Abuser Up for Parole Today
UPDATE 10AM: William Dodson has been DENIED parole, says he has little remorse for tapping Caitlyn the Dog’s mouth shut.
CHARLESTON, SC (BRODIE HART, WTAT-TV) — An infamous animal abuser will be up for parole Wednesday morning.
William Dodson has served six months of a maximum 5-year sentence. You may remember Dodson was the man who taped Caitlyn the Dog’s mouth shut back in 2015.
Now, there is a big push online and in person to make sure Dodson remains in prison for his crime.
Leaders with the Charleston Animal Society are urging everyone to do just one thing today – oppose the role of Caitlyn the Dog’s abuser.
Dodson was given the maximum sentence after he plead guilty to a felony charge of ill treatment of an animal, but now he is eligible for parole after service just six months in jail. Animal advocates say that is just not enough time.
However, officials say just because Caitlyn’s abuser is eligible to get out of jail doesn’t mean he should.
“It’s about sending a message,” said Aldwin Roman, director of animal cruelty at the Charleston Animal Society. “…We’re not going to tolerate something like this. Not only in our county but our city and our state.”
Currently, Caitlyn is living with a foster family and we are told she is happy and healthy.
