COLUMBIA, SC (WTAT-TV) — A newly released campaign message shows a South Carolina candidate slamming President Donald Trump.

The video, released by democratic candidate, Marguerite Willis was posted on YouTube Tuesday afternoon.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is a racist, he’s a horrible racist, he’s the worst kind of racist,” she said in the ad.

Willis continued; “How could we elect a man who says such horrible things about women, how can we elect anybody who said once they got in power they could take advantage of women sexually and otherwise?”

Meanwhile, fellow democratic candidate, Phil Nobel, responded by agreeing with Willis but added the biggest challenge is not the president, but the current legislature at the statehouse and the current Governor.

“I wholeheartedly agree with Marguerite’s take on Trump—but our next Governor’s biggest challenges will not come from him, but from a corrupt legislature and McMaster cronies who have helped perpetuate minority poverty, left us 50th in the nation in education, and failed to take a stand for our environment or against the NRA,” he said in a press release Tuesday.

The Democratic primary election will be held on June 12th.
