The Charleston County School District faced people at a Mount Pleasant special meeting Wednesday night. Some worry that stadium being built there would change the Carolina Park community, traffic, noise, light pollution and safety are all concerns.

District officials say this site will have 2,300 parking spots, crosswalks and lights – but many are not convinced it will go as planned.

“The impact of a stadium that large, on our community, three high schools using it – three sports plus bands and events on the weekend… that are will never have any downtime,” said Mary Callaghan, a Mount Pleasant realtor.

Another community meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th at Laing Middle School at 6:00pm.
