Daniel Island Apartment Manager, Resident Arrested in Drug Bust
DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WTAT-TV) — Two people have been arrested following a drug bust at a Daniel Island apartment complex.
Joshua Granite, 24, of River Landing Drive in Charleston has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute THC edibles, possession with intent to distribute THC oil, and possession with intent to distribute THC wax.
During a drug investigation at the Simmons Park apartment complex on Daniel Island, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit seized the following:
• 56 gross grams of a wax that that field tested presumptive to contain THC.
• 500 gross grams of a green, plant-like material that that field tested presumptive to contain THC
• 61 E-Cigs that contained a substance that that field tested presumptive to contain THC
• Several gummy bears that were sent off for laboratory analysis
During that investigation, officials say the interacted with apartment complex manager, Ashlee Thorp so that they could gain access to the gated complex.
After the search warrant was executed, authorities learned that Thorp has sent electronic communications to Granite in an attempt to obstruct the investigation.
Both were transported to the Hill Finklea Detention Center where they now await a bond hearing.
