Deputies Discover Gun, Drugs During Traffic Stop in Pineville
BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) — Two men have been arrested and taken to the Hill Finklea Detention Center following a traffic stop in the area of Matilda Circle and Highway 45 in Pineville.
During that stop, the driver, Steven Prioleau, told officers the he did not believe any more drug dealers were left in the area after the Sheriff’s Office conducted several sweeps a few months ago.
When informed that drugs were indeed still being sold in the Willowood areas, Prioleau stated ‘that’s crazy’.
A pat down of Prioleau was conducted and in his possession deputies found 25 different colored triangle-shaped pills that later tested presumptive for ecstasy.
The passenger, Jerry Houston, Jr., was found to be in possession of a handgun, white rock-like substance, and a plastic baggy with a green, plant material. The white, rock-like substances were weighed at approximately 1.3 gross grams and field tested presumptive to be cocaine and the green plant material approximately 11.38 grams and field tested presumptive to be marijuana.
Prileau has a hold placed upon him for possession with the intent to distribute ecstasy and the service of a family court bench warrant.
Houston was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and unlawful carry of a firearm.
