Deputies Investigating After Dog, Trailer Shot in Goose Creek
BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Sunday night on Oakside Drive in Goose Creek.
According to an incident report, officers were called to a residence in regards to a dog and trailer that were struck by bullets.
Upon arrival, officers met with Thomas Long and Patti Ammons.
Long reportedly told officers he was watching TV in the living room with his dog when he heard about six shots strike his trailer.
Ammons said she was inside her room lying in bed with her dog when she heard the dog whimpering. That is when she noticed her dog was bleeding as it was lying next to her feet.
The responding officer said he noticed the bleeding dog when he entered the residence, but it was still attempting to walk and was breathing.
In the report, officials say they observed several bullet holes in the bedroom which went into the bathroom and into the kitchen where they eventually stopped.
Officers canvased the area in an attempt to locate any shell casings, but could not find any.
They say approximately six bullet holes were seen in the trailer which appeared to be coming from the west (Addison Drive direction).
Deputies say they also spoke with several neighbors who were outside. Each stated they heard the shots but did not see anything.
