Development Deal Approved for Patriots Point
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WTAT-TV) — The next 100-years is being mapped out at Patriots Point. The state has signed off on a 99-year lease and will govern how 60-acres of land will be developed.
A Charleston business man plans to build a posh hotel, restaurant, shops and an amphitheater in the area.
Leaders, though, say it will translate into an annual revenue of $3.5 million for Patriots Point. The money will go towards maintaining all of the World War II warships.
Officials say construction will not start for another two years.
