DHEC Slaps Popular Downtown Restaurant with Grade “C”

CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Three Charleston-area restaurants received a “C” rating from DHEC during a health inspection in December of 2017.

Two of the restaurants were located in Charleston County while the third was located in Dorchester County.

Among them was popular restaurant 5 Church in downtown Charleston. DHEC tells us they received a grade of 74%, but upgraded to an “A” on their follow-up inspection.

China Max Cuisine located in the Northwoods Mall Food Court also received a “C” rating on their December 28th inspection. A follow-up grade has not yet been reported.

Finally, the Summerville Country Club was also on that list of “C” ratings but upgraded to an “A” on their follow-up inspection just three days later.
