Durham Bringing “Drivecam” to Lowcountry School Buses
CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) — There is something new coming to school buses in Charleston County: a new set of eyes to not only watch your kids but the roadways as well.
A new feature called “drivecam” will record the inside of the school bus and the road at all times.
We are told the cameras are actually triggered when they sense unusual driving behavior.
Durham School Services operates the buses for the Charleston County School District and says “drivecam” reduces erratic driving.
The technology will be installed on all district school buses before the end of the 2017/2018 school year.
