Fort Sumter Plans to Reopen Following Tropical Storm Irma
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Park rangers at Fort Sumter say they plan to reopen the national monument today.
The fort has been closed since September 7th because of damage and flooding brought on by Tropical Storm Irma.
Park staff has worked hard the past few days to clean up and make needed repairs.
There will be five ferry trips to the fort today, but the evening’s sunset trip to the Fort has been cancelled.
