Gang Member Pleads Guilty in Drive-by Shooting Case
CHARLESTON, SC (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a gang member has been sentenced on an attempted murder charge in a drive-by shooting in South Carolina two years ago.
Prosecutors and police said 31-year-old Joshua Edward Manigault of Green Pond was sentenced to 10 years in prison in court in Charleston on Thursday.
Prosecutors said Manigault was a member of the Wildboys gang involved in a shooting in Walterboro in 2015. Prosecutors said Manigault and other gang members fired into a house, seriously injuring one person.
U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel also ordered Manigault to serve three years of supervised release and to pay for medical care of the victim, whose name was not released.
Three other members of the gang were sentenced in June after pleading guilty to related charges. A fourth awaits sentencing.
