Gloria Gaynor Surprises Formerly Homeless Teen in Myrtle Beach
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — I will survive!
Gloria Gaynor’s hit song “I Will Survive” rings true for one Myrtle Beach teen who has experienced being homeless.
Megan Faircloth expresses that Gaynor’s song helped her family get through very rough times.
Gaynor caught wind of Faircloth’s life story through social media and paid a visit to her humble fan.
“I’m just so amazed at the strength of character of this young lady,” shared Gaynor. “She [Faircloth] said she used my song to help her, and I thought, ‘This is the purpose of my song.'”
Gaynor gave Faircloth a $2000 check from her I Will Survive Foundation.
Faircloth has moved in with family, graduated from the top of her class, and has plans to attend Stanford.
