Goose Creek High School Robotics Team Progresses to World Championship

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WTAT-TV) — Students with Goose Creek High School’s VEX Robotics team has something to be proud of!

The team will be competing in the VEX World Championship after taking second place at a 50-team state championship.

‘The Binary Bots,’ which consists of Sean Odgers, Sergio Bugarin, Mario Flores, Alan Never and Devin Lawson, are now setting their sights on the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, where the championship will be held in April.

Goose Creek’s ‘Code Charlie’ Team also had a strong showing at the state competition by reaching the semifinal round and finishing in the top-10 in the robot skills challenge, according to Berkeley County School District’s Digital Communication Specialist, Brian Troutman.

‘Code Charlie’ consists of Travis Campbell, Austin Hicks, Neal Capalungen and Josh Vigil.
