Hold the Gifts, Lowcountry Five-Year-Old Raises Money for the Food Bank
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — A Lowcountry girl is giving back to her community in a big way!
Davis Trager turned 5-years-old on Monday. Trager told her parents that she didn’t want any presents for her birthday, but instead wanted to help more people get food.
“Because I want more and more people to have enough food for their life,” she said.
So, Davis’ mom contacted the Lowcountry Food Bank and set up what they call ‘celebrations for a cause’.
So far they have raised more than $600 for the food bank.
“Not many 5-year-olds would give up their birthday presents to get food for other people, but Davis did,” said her mother, Kelly Trager.
The drive will run through the end of the week. you can drop off donations for Davis’ birthday food drive in person at 290 King Street or make an online donation by clicking here.
