Leaders to Gather in Downtown Charleston for kickoff of the Greenway Project
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Leaders with MUSC, Roper St. Francis and the VA will meet with the City of Charleston on Monday to kick off the brand new Greenway Project.
The project has been in the works since 2015 and a portion of Doughty Street has already been closed.
Eventually, people visiting or working in the hospitals will be able to gather in that greenway.
New trees will be planted, outdoor seating will be installed and food trucks will come on a regular basis.
The idea is for people to connect with the physical environment as part of the healing process.
