Lens on Local: What’s Happening This Week in the Lowcountry
CHARLESTON, SC (ADAM BRADLEY, WTAT-TV) — Lots of excitement this weekend ladies and gents, the tall ships sailing into the harbor starting tomorrow, the “Isle of Songs” Music Festival at the Windjammer on IOP, Party at the Point, but Saturday is probably the most action packed day of the week and the weather’s looking good for it too so grab your shades and make plans for one or more of these great outdoor events:
It’s no secret our city loves its suds so sip and celebrate at this sweet springtime celebration; Charleston Beer Garden. The Holy City’s largest pop-up beer garden will take place at The Grove at Patriots Point where you can sample beer from dozens of local breweries, plenty of food, live music and booze-filled fun. It’s for a good cause, too, benefiting Lowcountry Aids Services.
For a team tournament everyone will enjoy; spend your Saturday at MUSC Health Stadium! It’s the 17th Annual Bocce Bash where 128 teams of 4 battle it out on 32 separate bocce courts. Bocce is fun and easy to learn so get registered, name your team and have some good fun for a great cause… bocce bash benefits Special Olympics South Carolina.
’Tis the season – fishing tournament season! I know Dave Williams will be all over this one, the cast off fishing tournaments start this Saturday with 9 tournaments scheduled at both the Mount Pleasant and Folly Beach Piers. The prize categories can change, so click here for all the info you need.
That will do it for this week’s Lens on Laocal. We’ll see you there with your shades on!
