CHARLESTON, SC (ADAM BRADLEY, WTAT-TV) — When I think ‘Murica two things come to mind; football and barbecue. Well we literally have the best of both worlds in town this week.

For all you local football fans – the 47th Annual Sertoma Football Classic kicks off tomorrow night with 6 truncated games and continues Friday with 5 more. It’s a huge party – all the teams, cheer squads, bands – yours, truly was banging some marching drums in a 200% wool band uniform at this thing for 4 years with sweat in every nook and cranny of my body and still managed to have a great time. Tickets are on sale now – for links head to FOXCHARLESTON.COM.

Saturday we’ll be hitting the sauce in the Sam’s Club parking lot…barbecue sauce, that is! the National Pro BBQ Tour Competition will fire up on Saturday at 10am at the Tanger Outlet Sam’s Club. 30 teams will compete in 4 categories; pork ribs, pork butt, chicken and brisket for the $10,000 top prize and to advance to the regionals. This is the largest barbecue tournament in America so put this one on your calendar…and SMOKE IT!

That’s all you need for this week’s Lens on Local. I’m Adam Bradley and we’ll see you there with your shades on!
