Local Group Busing People to Anti-Drilling Rally
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — It’s a big week in the on-going fight over offshore drilling. A Lowcountry advocacy group wants to hear your concerns.
Federal officials will hold a meeting about offshore drilling and there’s an opportunity for you to attend.
The meeting will be held in Columbia and the Coastal Conservation League is going all out to get everyone they can to attend.
The group is offering a ride to and from the state capitol for just $3.00.
All you have to do is meet at Tanger Outlets near the Banana Repubic store by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12th.
Leaders say they’ll then head to Columbia for an 11:00 a.m. rally on the State House steps against offshore drilling.
Just last month, Folly Beach City Council voted unanimously to join a federal lawsuit to prevent offshore drilling and seismic testing.
