Local Students Help with Hurricane Preparations
HANAHAN, SC (WTAT-TV) — Schools across the tri-county area are closed as the state prepares for impacts from Hurricane Florence.
Student athletes from Hanahan High School are using their time off to help the community get ready for the storm.
They spent the day Tuesday filling sandbags and distributing them to those who are worried about flooding from Florence.
Leaders say it was a great way to get kids involved and the simplest thing they could do for a community who has been so supportive.
