“We finished before the rain most importantly, but I felt like I played a lot better tonight,” said Rogers following her win. “I came out and tried to be aggressive, she (Madison Keys) is a very confident player, super strong, powerful, but I did what I needed to do and it worked!”
She went on to say that she’s had some great wins against top players. “I feel like I rose to the occasion pretty well. It’s not easy in front of your home crowd, but it is so special having my friends and family here. It’s pretty incredible and I am so happy that I get to come back and play another match.”
Rogers will play against Naomi Osaka tonight after 7:00pm.
