Lowcountry Native Will Play in MLB All-Star Game

CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — A Lowcountry native is going to be stepping up to a huge stage today! Stratford High School graduate Justin Smoak will appear in his first MLB All-Star game.

Smoak has been in the league for about a year now and plays for the Toronto Blue Jays, and he will start for the American League tonight.

The pride of Goose Creek went on to play for the Gamecocks before making it to the major leagues. He still holds the USC record for most home runs.

You can catch that game TONIGHT on FOX 24 beginning at 8:00 p.m., with the pregame airing right after FOX 24 News at 6:30 p.m.
