Man Accused of Setting Citadel Graduate on Fire Captured in NY
FLORENCE, SC (WTAT-TV) — The man accused of setting his wife on fire is now in custody.
Police captured 32-year-old Charles Nethercutt in New York state earlier this week and charged with attempted murder in Florence, SC.
His wife, Amanda Nethercutt, is a Citadel graduate. She recently underwent her eight surgery and is still recovering from those burns.
Police say Nethercutt doused Amanda with gasoline and then lit her on fire, causing her to suffer with severe burns all over her body.
Charles has been on the run from police since September. Investigators say they are now working to determine if her had any help in evading authorities.
