Man Arrested Following Tip About Heroin Distribution
GEORGETOWN, SC (WTAT-TV) — A Georgetown man has been arrested following a month-long investigation into heroin distribution.
Agents with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office say they received a tip that the suspect, Akeem Moore, was selling heroin.
Moore was already out on bond for trafficking heroin and other gun and drug related charges.
On March 6th, authorities say they discovered Moore driving a rental care on South Fraser Street.
His vehicle was stopped and during a search agents discovered a large amount of cash in his pocket and a scale in his car. They also smelled marijuana but could not locate it.
Moore was taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center where deputies say he tried to dispose of a bag containing several grams of marijuana.
He has been charged with trafficking heroin (second offense), possession with intent to distribute marijuana (second offense), and bringing contraband into a county prison.
