Man Robs Summerville Walgreens, Steals Thousands of Narcotic Pills
SUMMERVILLE, SC (WTAT-TV) — Police in Summerville say thousands of pills were stolen during an armed robbery at a Walgreens located on North Main Street just before 4:00 a.m. Thursday.
A pharmacist at the store told officers a black male jumped over the counter and asked for Percocet and Dilotin – but thought the man was joking until she noticed a small gun in his hand.
At that point, the employee said the suspect grabbed her by the sleeve and demanded she take him to the safe. She walked to the drug safe and opened it up and the suspect held open a green Walgreen’s bag and directed the pharmacist to dump thousands of narcotic pills into the bag.
Once complete, the suspect told the pharmacist to law down and count to 100. When she was finshed, the man was gone.
Officers were able to retrieve security video of the incident and two shoes there were found in the parking lot of the Walgreen’s which appeared to be the same as the one’s the suspect was wearing during the robbery incident.
If you know anything about this incident you are asked to call Summerville Police or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
