Memorial Service to be Held Florence Police Officer Sgt. Terrence Carraway

FLORENCE, SC (WTAT-TV) – Flags at the statehouse and around the state of SC will fly at half mass today as symbol of appreciation for the slain, Officer Terrence Carraway.

Carraway was killed on Wednesday, October 3rd in Florence, SC when he and other officers were attempting to serve a search warrant. Authorities identified 74-year-old Frederick Hopkins, a disabled Vietnam veteran and disbarred lawyer as the suspect.

A viewing is being held today from 9am to 11am at the Florence Center on West Radio Drive. A memorial service will immediately follow at noon.

Hopkins remains in the Richland County Jail and is being charged with one account of murder and six counts of attempted murder for wounding the other officers at the scene. He is denied bail.
