NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Police have taken more drugs and guns off the streets of North Charleston.

They say tips about narcotics activity lead them to the 4000 block of Rivers Avenue. Officers showed up Monday and spotted a man running into a nearby business.

Because of the person’s overt actions, officers went into the building to search for the man. They found him hiding in the back stockroom.

Officers recovered a 9mm firearm sitting on top of a cardboard box along with eleven wrapped bags of marijuana.

Wilson Leroy Swinton, 23, of North Rhett Avenue was taken into custody. He has been charged with unlawful carry of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

His bond was set at $25,000.
