Former Mt. Pleasant Councilman Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (ALEX HEATON, WTAT-TV) — A former Mount Pleasant councilman has been arrested on charges connected to an after prom high school party.
Ken Glasson was arrested late Thursday night and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center just before 12:30am. He is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct in connection to a party involving minors at a Seabrook Island home on March 30th.
As for specific details about his arrest and accusations about a possible crime leading to that charge, those have not yet been released.
According to an incident report provided by the sheriff’s office, Glasson was a chaperone for the March 30th party at a Seabrook Island home attended by Wando High School students.
That report also states a concerned person contacted the sheriff’s office about under age drinking and the possibility of inappropriate sexual activity at that party.
We have asked the sheriff’s office whether Glasson turned himself in but we have not received an answer to that question yet.
Glasson was not the only chaperone at that party, the sheriff’s office says 51-year-old Kelly Hollowell of Mount Pleasant was also listed as a chaperone. A background check shows Hollowell was arrested in April of 2014 on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Glasson is expected in bond court at 10:00am, and of course we will have a crew there and will bring you the latest as we follow this developing story.
