A Local Organization Is Making the Holidays Merrier for Those in Need
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — The holidays should be a joyful time filled with laughter and happiness for families across the world.
But for some, they’re marred by uncertainty about the future.
The U.S. Census shows more than 7% of Mount Pleasant residents live in poverty, which means a Christmas without presents under the tree or warm meals.
But there’s a special organization dedicated to providing just that.
Since 1989, East Cooper Community Outreach has continued to make a lasting mark on the Lowcountry with its outreach and assistance programs.
The holidays are no exception. This Christmas they’re putting smiles on people’s faces with myriad programs providing food, gifts and so much more.
