A Local Project Helping Charleston Reach a Healthier and Happier Future

CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — The job market and economy have been improving. Wages have grown and unemployment sits lower than in previous years since the great recession.

However, there are Americans who still need help with life’s basics — such as food, healthcare, and education.

An organization in Charleston that is helping meet those need is the Palmetto Project.

Shelli Quenga, director of programs with Palmetto Project, shares information on details of the project.

Currently, the initiatives that Palmetto Project is involved in is healthcare, family, youth development, schools, community engagement, and civic participation.
