A New Campaign Is Rewriting the Future for Our Youth
CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — With today’s gadgets, children are becoming more technology savvy but less and less inclined to read books.
A study conducted by City University of New York revealed third grade is a crucial point in a child’s life. Young individuals who are not reading at grade level by the end of this school year are four times likely to drop out of high school.
Trident United Way is dispatching volunteers to schools in the tri-county area to set kids on the path to success with a brand new campaign, ‘Reading by Third’.
