CHARLESTON, SC — Basketball has become more than a game for kids in jermel president’s community — it’s an opportunity to educate and train student-athletes to become skilled, effective and responsible citizens.

Jermel President is the CEO and founder of the Delores and Estelle Foundation, also known as DAE.

Jermel has an impressive academic and athletic background. He is a former Burke High School Bulldog. His number retired in 2011 after having played point guard for College of Charleston.

He enjoyed a professional career being coached by basketball hall of famer Rick Barry.

Having grown up in the Charleston inner city, Jermel has been inspired to give back to the community.

Jermel’s nonprofit, DAE, was founded with an understanding of need for skill development programs in Charleston’s community. The program informs young basketball players on opportunities and resources available to them, creating a successful future for the program participants.

All ages are welcomed and encouraged to be a member of the growing DAE community in Charleston. Visit and become part of the family.
