CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — Here’s something to think about: when we take the time to be still and invite God’s voice into our lives, he patiently guides us into His perfect presence and shows us glimpses of what He has in store for us.

That is an excerpt pulled from Marissa Nash’s website – a philosophy which surrounds her new book, ‘Abide: A 40-Day Guide to Hearing God’s Voice.’

Nash has been a certified professional life coach for over two years. Certified in southern California, she moved to Charleston and started a community called ‘The Vine Women,’ a space for Christian women to explore themselves in the presence of God.

“I really, though my coaching, believe in inviting God in through prayer,” she said. “So in goal setting, we have one-on-one conversations where I sit down with women, we invite God in, and I ask them to really listen to his voice and be directed by what God has for them.”

Participating in the 40-days herself, Nash wrote the book as a devotional that is meant to be interactive. “There is space to meditate on scripture, write out a prayer, and the listen to God’s voice and write what you may be experiencing,” she explained. “Another part is taking action and really experiencing God’s word and the Holy Spirit in your life and then pursuing that with speaking and sharing that with other people.”

Nash will hold a launch party for the new book at Mercantile and Mash (701 E. Bay Street) between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
