Hero of the Lowcountry: Aldwin Roman – Charleston Animal Society

From dog parks to animal-friendly restaurants and festivals, there is no shortage of pet-friendly happenings around town. Charleston has also been in the spotlight for its animal advocacy and animal abuse cases which have made national headlines and have tugged at the hearts of animal lovers everywhere.
Aldwin Roman is no stranger to the Lowcountry and its animal-friendly residents. Aldwin is the anti-cruelty and outreach director for the Charleston Animal Society working tirelessly for animal welfare.
Marley, Cappuccino, Unique, and Caitlyn the dog are just a sliver of animals Aldwin has advocated for. Then there was Florida, Puerto Rico and St. Croix animal evacuations which he helped orchestrate in the wake of hurricane devastation.
Through all of this caring, his positive outlook and passion for animals is evident through his tireless efforts. Aldwin is truly a voice for animals in need.
