How an 8-year-old Is Making a Lasting Impact on Our Region

CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — News headlines are often dominated by violence and negativity and it’s easy to forget that there are beautiful things happening around us all the time.

Sometimes the smallest of kind gestures can change someone’s life forever.

As part of our celebration of World Kindness Day, we’re happy to be joined by 8-year-old Merritt Payne who rolled up her sleeves and built a Lowcountry Blessing Box in Huger.

Merritt was joined by her mother, Anne MaGill-Payne and Rosie Herold, a librarian at Philip Simmons Elementary School to explain how the blessing box worked and how you can get involved.
