CHARLESTON, SC — Ron Russell is the founder of Gator Getter, an alligator education and removal service.

While some people have a pesky ant problem, the lowcountry is dealing with alligators.

Gator Getter provides education to help residents understand the creatures; removal and relocation of alligators; alligator surveys to give residents the knowledge of how many alligators they may have on their property; management plans on how to best manage populations; and educational seminars.

In Charleston, incidents of alligators have arose. From an alligator climbing to the second-story of a Mount Pleasant porch through a screen door to an alligator trying to ring a doorbell near the Cooper River, their presence is up close and personal.

In order to decrease future alligator incidents, it is important for the Charleston community to understand the nature of alligators.
