MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WTAT-TV) — Last month we brought you a story about a multimillion dollar stadium slated to be built across the street from Wando High School in the Carolina Park neighborhood.

Finding a home for the new facility has been met with a lot of resistance out of fear that the stadium will create a traffic burden and that its construction is also a waste of money.

Since the Charleston County School District settled on Carolina Park, it has been a point of contention between that community and the district despite its chosen location as having been commercially zoned.

Ever since our broadcast we have received an outpouring of responses from Carolina Park residents who say their voices have not been heard in the process and that they have been victims of the classic bait and switch scheme.

A Carolina Park resident who has asked not to be identified stopped by our studios to voice his community’s opinion on the new stadium.
