Why After-school Programming Is Key to a Child’s Development

CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — After-school programs play a key role in the academic development of students across the nation by providing discipline, a creative outlet, and structure after the bell rings.

Here at home, dozens of Lowcountry students are improving their academic and social lives thanks to a local nonprofit’s tireless efforts to lend a helping hand.

Kids on Point offers several enrichment opportunities in and out of the classroom, from sports to service projects.

We spoke with Jamita Brown, success coordinator for the organization to learn how they are giving back.
