NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (BRODIE HART) – A rodent issue at Garrett Academy in North Charlestons has pest control visiting up to 5 times a week.

Officials say they have been trying to rid the academy of rats for at least 6 weeks. School Board member, Michael Miller is expected to stop by and address the issue.

Traps were set in one classroom and disposed of by a school staff member who did not inform the district’s facilities or maintenance office of the issue.

DHEC will do a full cafeteria inspection, for now classes will resume as normal.
