CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Organizers of a popular beer festival known as ‘Brewvival’ say the keg has been kicked.

That announcement came Wednesday that the festival will not go on next year. That event started eight years ago with the help of Coast Brewing Company.

One of the events founders, Scott Shor, says it all boils down to a growing number of similar events here in the Lowcountry and a desire to be a little different.

“Some people are going to be sad. I would just encourage those folks to stay tuned, wait and see. We’re positive we are going to come back with something refreshed, new and better than ever,” he said.

Shor says the local breweries that participate in the event understand the decision and look forward to planning another event in the near future.
