People Spending Less Green This St. Patrick’s Day

CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) – People will be spending less green on celebrating St. Patty’s Day this year.

According to the National Retail Federation, the average reveler plans to spend an average of $40 for St. Patrick’s Day. They say that the March 17th celebration will bring in $5.61-billion to the economy. That is below last years total of nearly $6-billion.

According to the survey, the biggest spenders will be between the ages of 18 and 34. The biggest portion of that spending will be on food and drinks.
