CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — There has been a big break in a series of robberies across the tri-county area. Police say they’ve arrested suspects behind multiple robberies at Dollar General stores.

Officials made the connection after a high-speed chase near Columbia last Friday. That chase ended with shots fired.

We are told the robberies in Charleston County were in Awendaw, McClellanville, Red Top and Ravenel.

Two of those happened at stores in St. Stephen and Holly Hill in Berkeley County.

Deputies say these locations were in rural areas which helped the suspects escape.

The suspects are 20-year-old Paul Walker, 20-year-old Malik Gaddis and 26-year-old Julius Washington. They are being held On armed robbery charges in North Carolina.
