Residents Around the Lowcountry Enjoy Warm Meals at Waffle House
GOOSE CREEK, SC (WTAT-TV) — Waffle House restaurants across the Lowcountry have been bustling this week while other restaurants and businesses remain closed.
Hurricane Florence has slowly made its way to the Carolina Coast, but that slow track has stirred up some serious cabin fever in locals who decided to ride out the storm.
Tropical storm force winds are expected to increase as the day progresses Friday. Many wanted one last chance to move around the city before hunkering down.

Waffle House staff in North Charleston on Thursday told us they were understaffed and working 12-hour shifts.
The breakfast chain is often a symbol of the storm — even remaining open through much of Hurricane Hugo in 1989.

Be sure to tip your servers and thank them for their service.
