SC Senator Hospitalized After Suffering Brain Aneurysm
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) — A South Carolina Senator has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Republican State Senator Greg Hembree was admitted to the ICU Thursday night, according to 15th Circuit Solicitor and friend Jimmy Richardson.
Richardson says Hembree is stable and awake but has some bleeding on the brain.
His hospital stay is expected to last several weeks as he recovers.
Sen. Hembree represents District 28 for Dillon and Horry Counties. He was a solicitor from 1999 until 2012.
According to Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain that can leak or rupture.
