SC Trooper Saves Toddler’s Life During Traffic Stop
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — Saving lives is at the top of the list for State Troopers and one has an inspiring story to tell.
While conducting a traffic stop near mile marker 211 on I-26 in the North Charleston area, Benjamin Crocker said a mother drove up behind his car and said her infant grandchild was not breathing.
That is when the 26-year-old sprung into action to save that boys life and said CPR classes throughout his career gave him the skills he needed to help out.
“I kicked into life-saving mode, I guess, and I just started doing gentle sternum rubs with my two fingers. Then once I got a response out of him and he started crying, I knew he was breathing again.”
The child was taken to Summerville Medical Center where he was expected to be okay.
