CALIFORNIA (WTAT-TV) – It’s getting attention across the nation. Low-income women and girls cannot use WIK or SNAP benefits to purchase feminine hygiene products.

Sometimes students miss school because they do not have the feminine products to get through the day.

Students in California decided to collect these necessary products for the homeless and low-income families in their county.

The students have collected over 6-thousand sanitary products since September.
