Tourist Hopes Locals Can Find Missing Saint Anthony’s Pendant
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) — A tourist visiting the Lowcountry is hoping residents are able to locate a missing Saint Anthony’s pendant and chain.
“I was in Charleston for a wedding at the Francis Marion Hotel from Thursday to Sunday,” said Jacob Gutter. “While in Charleston I did what every tourist does, experience and walk around all of Charleston. I really quite enjoyed my time there until Sunday came along.”
That is when Gutter says he realized a 24-inch, 24kt gold chain with a Saint Anthony’s Pendant was missing.
Gutter says the pendant is about the size of a dime and sent us photo of what the piece of jewelry would look like.
“This chain and pendant is no ordinary chain and pendant to me,” he said. “It was given to my mother by her mother when she was just a young girl. My grandmother bought the chain and pendant from the Vatican sometime in the late 1950s, when my mother and grandmother visited Italy after immigrating to the United States a few years beforehand.”
With the pendant having such a large amount of sentimental value, Gutter is just hoping someone in the Lowcountry would be lucky enough to locate it.
If you have found Gutters lost Saint Anthony’s Pendant in the downtown Charleston area between Thursday, November 2nd to Sunday, November 5th, please click here to let us know and we’ll put you in contact with Mr. Gutter.
